There a many gyms in Baltimore and the surrounding area. When moving to a new city, one of the first things I do is join a gym. Here, we'll describe some of the options and help you understand what your experience will be. For us, a gym is not only a place to run on a tredmill, but an important building block of building your social community.
Merritt Athletic Clubs

I have been very satisfied with Merritt. I love the multiple locations, outdoor pools, young vibe, nail salon, Les Mills classes, hot yoga, and that they have pretty much every piece of equipment ever. If you want that HOTT girl lean, long look Merritt has the classes to get you there. They have awesome music, the best instructors, and the widest selection of classes to choose from.

This was the first gym I joined when I moved back to Baltimore. It is located right in Harbor East and is probably the newest/ most renovated of any fitness centers here. I liked that it was clean inside and professional. It also has a couple indoor pools for those cold winters and a jacuzzi. They have limited cardio and weight equipment. They do not have Les Mills classes or and are less impressive. The crowd wears lax shorts and sorority T-shirts. We feel like the MAC is a little more laid-back when it comes to fitness and is a family-friendly gym.
